Thus, if the USDA reports soybean acres on Friday at the average analyst estimate of 89.691 million acres, that would be a slight decrease in acreage of .50% from 2017. For soybean stocks, the average analyst estimate for the June 29th USDA Grain Stocks report is 1.225 billion bushels. Compare that to the June USDA stocks report in 2017 of .966 billion bushels and we’re looking at an increase in stocks of 26.81% year over year. Corn stocks jumped to 8.6 billion bu., down 3% from this report last year. Soybean stocks hit a record 2.72 billion bu.—a whopping 29% jump from March last year.
